Paris trip mai 2017

I had to do some trip to Paris for work reasons. I made some nice pictures from the plane: Paris and back again. There was not allot of time for visiting but I managed some pictures: Paris 2017.

Calnic, Romania

These are some pictures from arround my grandparents village of Calnic, Gorj county,  Romania: Calnic april 2017.

Moldovian Republic

My first visit to Moldovian republic included visits to Chisinau,  Cricova and Orhei.

Romania 2016

           First trip this year, just going to the mountains to Ceahlau mountain ridge : Durau. After this we went to the Bicaz dam, Bicaz canyon and a short stay at the Red lake.
           Another30-31 July a camping trip, first after few years going next to the Pangarati lake, making some boat trips and staying at a camping site  Bicaz boat and Izvorul alb. Next day we went to a more extended stay at Around Red Lake and made a stop to visit : Piatra Neamt.
          A short vacation to my grandparents village allowed me to make some pictures : Calnic. In the return trip towards Iasi I took a road-trip and we made some stops along the way : Curtea de Arges, Rucar pass and Bran castle.
         A new trip towards Ceahlau mountains making a circular trail from Durau through Fantanele Cabin staying the night to the camping close to Dochia Cabin and descending throught the Duruitoarea waterfall : Durau trail. At the return trip we passed through an old fortress : Cetatea Neamtului.
 A new trip towards the monasteries brought me to Probota monastery, to the more famous Voronet Monastery and we have seen the mountains in Gura Humorului.
An amazing trip to Ceahlau mountains in the winter got us snow and more unfortunately rain, but it was worth it : Ceahlau in winter.

Iasi, Romania

        I moved in Iasi in September 2015, but I only started to live here since 10 October 2015. There are many things to love here and I started to discover them. One of the first things to love is without a doubt the: botanical garden. One other interesting spot is the Cetatuia monastery and a picnic spot on the Hill with the antena. Strange enough, the garbage dump provided me with an opportunity to take some very interesting photos of scavenging birds: the birds.
         The spring of 2016 gave me the chance to see the tulips collection, a bit decayed, but still spectacular. I have also some pictures from a bike trip made next to Chirita lake near  Iasi and Jijia river: bike trip. Here are some pictures from the rooftop of my building in: Podul Ros.

Paris, France

         I went to Paris for a training stage in Autumn 2015. First day was a trip around town especially in the La defense area: Paris first day. The next trip was in the next weekend going to the Biology museum, Jardin des Plantes, the Mineralogy museum and then taking a long walk through Paris: Walk through Paris. The Versailles palace and gardens showed me the magnificence of a long bygone era when beauty was an ideal to be sought after even with the exclusion of the common sense: Versailles.
        A night view from the Eifel tower: Nightscape from Eifel tower. A zombie walk festival in Paris showed some remarkable costumes and make-up job: zombie walk in Paris. A visit to the land of the dead in the catacombs of Paris can make you wonder if many of the things that seem important to us really matter all that much. Last evening in Paris got me to the Arts et metiers museum where I got to see many interesting artifacts.
        On the way back I had the chance to see a temporary break from the clouds and see some magnificent mountain landscapes: The Alpes viewed from the plane.

Romania, 2015

Here are some of the pictures made at Curtisoara museum: Curtisoara museum. This is great village museum with houses, tools and traditional costumes brought in from the entire Gorj county. It can be found at this address: Curtisoara museum address on google maps. In moved from my home city in Moldavian part of Romania in the city of Iasi. Here are some pictures taken in late October in the botanical garden: botanical garden Iasi. In one of the weekends I managed to take a walk to the Cetatuia hill on the  edge of the town: Cetatuia.

Trip to Ireland

My first trip to Ireland started in Belfast with a walk in the town and a visit to the wall of peace with some amazing graffiti: Belfast. Next I took a trip to Dublin where I got to see the city and the St. Patrick's day parade, or at least the beginning of it: Dublin. The visit included a walk through the Dublinia, an amazing historical museum where the life of the old city is presented as a walk in time. I went back to London crossing through the Wales: sea crossing to Wales.

Romania, 2013-2014

Here I have few pictures from Romania. First are some pictures from my hometown: Targu Jiu, then some pictures from the village of my grandparents: Calnic winter. There is a river in my town called Jiu, which give the town his name of Targu Jiu (rough translation The market of Jiu). It used to be black because of the coal of the mines but after the revolution the coal washing was stopped.  Eventually the water of the river cleared up, and the town has a quite nice artificial lake on the river. The water from the dam was released and we can see now years of coal deposits at the bottom of the lake and the river is still black even 25 years after: The empty dam of Jiu river.

Road trip to Vigo, Spain

A trip to Vigo to go to the Cies island, a very nice nature preserve just outside Vigo Bay: Cies island. After that we made a brief stop to Baiona in order to see the fortress and the shore: Baiona.

Minas de Borralha, Portugal

A trip to Tras Montes got me to the Minas de Borralha on the way between Braga and Chaves.

Ponte de Barca, Portugal

A trip to Melgaco got me as well to the city of Ponte de Barca: Ponte de Barca.

Trip to Andaluzia, Spain

Recently I made a small trip in Andaluzia, in South of Spain. The trip started in Cordoba, a very nice city on the banks of the river Guadalquivir. I started then to follow the Camino Mozarabe de Santiago with a friend, starting in Cerro Muriano, and in 5 days we reached Campanario Camino Mozarabe de Santiago. After a brief stay in Merida I reached Sevilla where I stayed for two days. My last stop was in Granada where I visited the city for another two days including the famous Alhambra castle, a jewel of Arabic architecture.

Trip to Las Catedrales, Spain

Trip to Tomar, Portugal

A roadtrip to Tomar in which I have seen the Ourem castle Ourem castle, Tomar templar castle and some caves located close to Fatima called Grutas de Moeda.

London and Cantenbury, Great Britain

A new trip to London, where I visited Science museum, Regents park and Camden market, Cantenbury, Richmond deer park.

Trip to Sintra, Portugal

A weekend trip to Sintra, close to Lisbon. In the first day we went to Pena national palace, Castle of the moors and we made a night visit to Military museum of Lisbon. The second day we have visited Sintra national palace, Quinta de Regaleiro, Monsserate palace, and the western continental point of Europe Cabo de Roca. On the way back to Braga we made a detour to visit the Almourol castle on rio Tejo.

Algarve, Portugal

A trip to Algarve for a few days between 23 and 28 April. The trip included  Faro, Vilamoura and the cave cruise, Tavira, Olhao. It was really interesting to see the unique nature of Ria Formosa.

Vacation in Scotland

I recently made a visit in Scotland with some friends. It was a really nice trip and I made a trip to Edinburgh and a tour to the Highlands, where we made a circular trip including Loch Ness and Urquhart castle.

Trip to Santiago de Compostela, Spain

A weekend trip to Santiago de Compostela: Santiago with stops on the way back to Pontevedra and Vigo.
