Bike trip to Randers, Denmark

A new bike trip, this time to Randers. The city is the only natural river port in Denmark on the river Guden. Of course i made some pictures in it:  Randers. It was a nice trip, which was a bit eventful; a flat tire made me walk the bike for 4 km before I meet some nice people from whom i borrowed a pump. I finally reached home after 90 km just biking, really grateful that I did not had to walk the full 18 km I had left and really decided to buy a pump.

O nouă expediţie cu bicicleta, de data asta la Randers. Oraşul este singurul port natural pe râu în Danemarca pe râul Guden. Bineînţeles am făcut nişte fotografii: Randers. A fost o călătorie faină, care a fost un pic plină de peripeţii; o pană de cauciuc m-a făcut sa plimb bicicleta înainte de a întâlni nişte oameni simpatici de la care am putut să împrumut o pompă. Am ajuns în final acasă după 90 km de mers cu bicicleta, foarte recunoscător că nu a trebuit să merg pe jos toţi 18 km pe care îi aveam de mers şi am decis să cumpăr o pompă.

Bike trip to Ebeltoft, Denmark

It seems that lately I'm taking more and more bike trips around Aarhus. I like it, especially when the weather is nice, (always a plus in Denmark). It was the case with my trip to Ebeltoft when i was able to see some amazing views on the road: Road to Ebeltoft. Once I reached my destination i made a visit to the frigate Jylland, which is nice but maybe not worth the high price for a ticket: Frigate Jylland. On my way back, I made a stop on Kalø castle ruins, which they look great in the bright sun: Kalø Slot. I had to bike for 100 km that day, but I did not regret it, it was just a great day.

Se pare că în ultimul timp fac mai multe expediţii cu bicicleta în jurul Aarhusului. Îmi place, în special când vremea e frumoasă (întotdeauna un plus în Danemarca).A fost cazul cu călătoria mea la Ebeltoft unde am reuşit să văd nişte privelişti minunate pe drum: Road to Ebeltoft. Odată ce am ajuns la destinaţie am făcut o vizită la fregata Jylland, care este faină, dar poate nu merită preţul destul de mare pentru un bilet: Frigate Jylland. Pe drumul înapoi, am făcut o oprire la ruinele castelului Kalø, care arată fantastic în soare strălucitor: Kalo Slot. A trebuit sa merg cu bicicleta peste 100 km în acea zi, dar a fost o zi fantastică.

Skandenborg, Denmark

Another bike trip, this time to Skandenborg. This is also in the lake region, but a bit closer to Aarhus: Skandenborg.

O altă expediţie cu bicicleta, de data asta la Skandenborg. Aceasta este de asemenea în regiunea lacurilor, dar un pic mai aproape de Aarhus: Skandenborg.

Silkenborg, Denmark

The town of Silkenborg is not so far from Aarhus and is close to Sky mountain. It is surroundet by forest and a few lakes, a good place for sailing. I was fortunate to visit in a beautiful spring day: Silkenborg.

Oraşul Silkenborg nu este departe de Aarhus si  este aproape de Muntele Cerului. Este înconjurat de pădure şi câteva lacuri, un loc bun pentru navigare. Am fost norocos să vizitez într-o zi frumoasă de primăvară: Silkenborg.

Sky mountain, Denmark

Not much mountains in Denmark, and the highest point is called Sky mountain, which is more like a big hill, but it has a very nice view. It was a nice day, so i decided to bike there, which finally was a trip of 90 km. I was dead tired after that, but there were few landscapes worth the effort: Sky Mountain Denmark.

Nu sunt mulţi munţi în Danemarca, şi cel mai înalt punct este numit Muntele Cerului, care este de fapt mai mult ca un deal mare, dar are o vedere faină. A fost o zi frumoasă, deci am decis să merg acolo cu bicicleta, care în final a fost o călătorie de 90 km. Am fost mort de obosit după aceea, dar au fost câteva privelişti care au meritat efortul: Sky Mountain Denmark.

Sometimes i like to take rapid succesion of photos, to catch a moment. I consider this type of photography one of the most great tools to capture a moment. Although sometimes is not working there were moments when i could really make great snapshots like this ones: Burst photography.  Enjoy!

Câteodată îmi place să fac fotografii în tiraj rapid, pentru a prinde un moment. Eu cred că acest tip de fotografiere este una din cele mai bune metode să prinzi un moment. Deşii uneori nu merge sunt unele momente unde poţi face poze grozave ca acestea: Burst photography. 

Legoland, Denmark

A trip to Legoland in Denmark. More then a common fair, but doe's not feel magic to me anymore, just a pleasant experience and that's all. You can see some pictures here: Legoland.

O călătorie în Legoland în Danemarca. Mai mult decât un bâlci normal, dar nu mi se mai simte ca magie, doar o experienţă plăcută şi atât. Puteţi vedea nişte poze aici: Legoland. 

Aachen trip, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark

Last week i made a small trip to Aachen, for a alumni meeting. I took the train from Århus and i had a small stop in Kolding, where i took some nigth shots to a castle next to the train station. After a stay in Aachen i went to Eindhoven and then to the dunes on the shores of Netherlands, at the Atlantic ocean: Trip To Aachen. On the return trip we passed through Anvers, just for a few hours, but enough to see some really nice places: Anvers. 

Săptămâna trecută am făcut o călătorie scurtă la Aachen, pentru o întâlnire alumni. Am luat trenul din Aarhus şi am avut o haltă în Kolding, unde am făcut nişte fotografii de noapte la un castel lângă staţia de tren. După o oprire în Aachen am mers la Eindhoven şi apoi la dunele de pe ţărmul Olandei, la oceanul Atlantic: Trip to Aachen. În călătoria de întoarcere am trecut prin Anvers. doar pentru câteva ore, dar destul să vedem nişte locuri foarte faine: Anvers.

Århus, Denmark

I'm  living in Århus, Denmark right now. It's a really nice city, but it has a lot of gray days. With so many of them, you really learn how to appreciate the sunny ones, like this one: Arhus. I will continue to add pictures, as i discover the city, like Den Gamle By(the old city): Arhus Old City. One other nice place in the city is the Moesgaard beach, which was beautiful on the 10th of May 2009(a sunny Sunday): Moesgaard beach Aarhus. Close to midsummer, i made a short trip to Moesgaard museum, just south of Aarhus. I saw some viking recreations and i took a walk in the woods. It is a great time to visit the place, and i saw some very beautiful things: Moesgaard Museum. Another event in Aarhus was the medieval market: Medieval Market. I especially enjoyed a medieval music group, the music was quite interesting. One week later, 25-26 of July, there is an annual event here in Aarhus, called Viking moot. There are more information on the official site: moesgaard-vikingmoot, however i have more pictures: Viking Moot Moesgaard. I really enjoyed the show, especially the combat scenes, which were quite nicely done: Combat Scenes. The entire thing was remarkably close to the medieval times to the pretty small details. This made me remember about my childhood when i was imagining that i was sword fighting. I even thought about buying a sword but i come down to earth when i saw how much the thing actually costs. Anyway, i hope you can enjoy my pictures.

Acum locuiesc în Aarhus, Danemarca. Este un oraş foarte fain, dar are multe zile gri. Cu aşa de multe înveţi cum să le apreciezi pe cele însorite, ca aceasta: Arhus. o să continui să adaug poze, cum explorez oraşul, ca şi Den Gamle By(oraşul vechi): Arhus old city. Un alt loc fain în oraş este plaja Moesgaard, care a fost frumoasă pe 10 mai 2009 (o duminică însorită): Moesgaard Beach Aarhus. Aproape de miezul verii, am facut o vizită scurtă la muzeul din Moesgaard, în sudul Aarhusului. Am văzut nişte recreaţii ale vikingilor şi m-am plimbat prin păduri. Este un timp fantastic să vizitezi locul, şi am văzut lucruri frumoase: Moesgaard Museum. Un alt eveniment în Aarhus a fost piaţa medievală: Medieval Market. Mi-a plăcut în mod deosebit un grup de muzică medieval cu o muzică destul de interesantâ. O zi mai târziu, 25-26 iulie, este un eveniment anual aici în Aarhus numit Vikig moot. Puteţi vedea mai multe informaţii pe saitul oficial: moesgaard vikingmoot, dar mai am oricum fotografii: Viking Moot Moesgaard. Mi-a plăcut foarte mult spectacolul, în special scenele de luptă, care au fost făcute foarte bine: Combat Scenes. Întregul spectacol a fost remarcabil de apropiat de timpurile medievale până la cele mai mici detalii. Aceasta m-a făcut să-mi amintesc despre copilăria mea când îmi imaginam că mă luptam cu sabia. M-am gândit chiar despre cumpărarea unei săbii dar m-am întors cu picioarele pe pământ când am văzut cât costă. Oricum, sper că vă puteţi bucura de poze.

Sohodol pass, Romania

I made another trip to Sohodol pass, which is situated at only 25 km from Tirgu-Jiu. It is a wonderfull river passing through the valley, which can be seen in the pictures in the folowing link: Sohodol.
Am făcut o altă călătorie la cheile Sohodolului, care sunt situate la numai 25 km de Târgu-Jiu. Este un râu minunat trecând prin vale, care poate fi văzut în pozele de pe linkul următor: Sohodol.

Polatiste creek and valley of Jiu, Romania

It was a cold, but sunny day and we decided to take a drive to Polatiste creek in Carpathian mountains, through the Valley of Jiu. It is amazing what water and sub-zero temperatures can create. You can see it for yourself in: Polatiste river and Jiu Valley.
A fost o zi  rece, dar însorită şi am decis să facem o călătorie la pârâul Polatişte în munţii Carpaţi, prin valea Jiului. Este uimitor ce pot face apa şi temperatura sub punctul de îngheţ. Puteţi vedea personal aici: Polatiste river and Jiu Valley.

Winter trip to Straja, Romania

I did not had too much fun during the job search, but I finally got some time and I went to the mountains, quite close to home: Straja. This is a sky resort close to the Straja peak, in an mining region. The mines are slowing down and there might be some hope that the tourism will replace them, if the people are smart, which unfortunately is not always true. On the return trip we saw the Lainici monastery, on the Jiu Valley: Lainici Monastery and the Valley of Jiu. Enjoy the pictures!
Nu am avut prea multă distracţie în timpul căutării de lucru, dar în final am avut ceva timp şi am mers la munte, destul de aproape de casă: Straja. Aceasta este o staţiune de schi aproape de vârful Straja, intr-o regiune minieră. Minele au încetinit producţiaşi poate fi ceva speranţă că turismul le va înlocui, dacă oamenii sunt deştepţi, ceea ce nu este întotdeauna adevărat. În drumul de întoarcere am văzut Mânăstirea Lainici, pe valea Jiului: Lainici Monastery and the valley of Jiu. Bucuraţi-vă de poze!

Autumn in Lupoaia forest, Romania

It was a beautiful and sunny day last Sunday and i decided to have a walk in the forest. The forest is close to my fathers village. It is not a famous place, but it is beautifull. Just take a look: Lupoaia Forest.
A fost o zi frumoasă şi însorită duminica trecută şi am decis sa fac o plimbare în pădure. Pădurea e aproape de satul tatălui meu. Nu este un loc faimos, dar este frumos. Arunca-ţi  o privire: Lupoaia Forest.

Târgu-Jiu, Romania

This is my home city, Târgu-Jiu. It is an old city, at least 700 years old. The most known features of the city are the sculptures of Constantin Brancusi The Gate of the Kiss , The Table of Silence and the Infinite Column. Here are the pictures: Tirgu-Jiu. I added some more pictures after a while, last of them being taken night with the Christmas lights. In my trip home in 2010 I made some pictures of festival of artisans: Festival of the Artisans.
 Acesta este oraşul meu natal, Târgu-Jiu. Este un oraş vechi de cel puţin 700 de ani. Cele mai cunoscute monumente al oraşului sunt sculpturile lui Constantin Brâncuşi Poarta Sărutului, Masa Tăcerii şi Coloana Infinitului. Aici sunt pozele: Tirgu-Jiu. Am adăugat câteva poze după un timp, ultimele din ele fiind luate noaptea cu luminile de Crăciun. În calătoria acasa din 2010 am făcut nişte poze de la festivalul artizanilor: Festival of the Artisans.

Dusseldorf, Germany

Dusseldorf is one of my favorite German cities. Like Koln is also on the Rhine, but in general the modern architecture is more present(or the old one is more absent). The two things I loved about the city are the park and the big tower. The park is really a paradise for birds, and you can see allot of species and the view from the top of the tower is beautiful. Just enjoy: Dusseldorf.

Dusseldorf este unul din oraşele mele favorite în Germania. Ca şi Koln este de asemenea pe Rin, dar în general arhitectura modernă este mai prezentă(sau cea veche este mai absentă). Cele două lucruri pe care le-am iubit despre oraş sunt parcul şi turnul mare. Parcul este un adevărat paradis pentru păsări, şi poţi vedea multe specii, iar priveliştea de pe turn este frumoasă. Lille, France

I visited Lille in 2004, for a NMR conference. It was during Braderie, a special celebration in the city, when most of the restaurants sell clams. In one of the pictures you can see o huge pile of them next to the restaurant. Anyway the city is beautiful: Lille and it has a very interesting Zoo: Lille Zoo.

Am vizitat Lille în 2004, pentru o conferinţă RMN. A fost în timpul Braderie, o celebrare specială în oraş, cind cele mai multe restaurante vând moluşte. Într-o poză puteţi vedea o grămadă uriaşă de scoici lângă restaurant. Oricum oraşul este frumos: Lille şi are o grădină zoologică foarte interesantă: Lille Zoo.

Aachen, Germany

Aachen, Germany at the border with Netherlands and Belgium. I stayed there for 3 years and three months. It may seem strange but i just have few pictures: Aachen. It is a nice city, not an extraordinary one, but I liked to live there. Some more pictures from the Aachen old city hall (now a museum): Aachen city hall.

Aachen, Germania, la graniţa cu Belgia şi Olanda. Am stat aici timp de 3 ani şi 3 luni. Poate părea ciudat dar am doar câteva poze: Aachen. Este un oraş fain, nu unul extraordinar, dar mi-a plăcut să locuiesc acolo. Nişte fotografii în plus din primăria veche a Aachenului (acum un muzeu): Aachen City hall.

A short trip home, Romania

It was indeed a short trip home to Romania, and i did had the opportunity to make allot of traveling. It was just few hours with the car, and i have some pictures from my parents house from countryside in Ciuperceni, and some unique geological formation in Ponoare: Ponoare.
 This was once the opening of a cave, now is just a natural bridge, God's Bridge how is presently known in the region. The next pictures are from Valea Mare (Big Valley) where we ca see an artificial lake, and the mountains around: Valea Mare.

A fost întradevăr o călătorie scurtă în România şi am avut ocazia să fac ceva călătorii. Au fost doar câteva ore cu maşina şi am facut nişte poze din casa părinţilor mei la tară în Ciuperceni impreuna cu ceva formaţii geologice unice în Ponoare: Ponoare.
Aceasta a fost odată intrarea unei peşteri iar acum este doar un pod natural, cunoscut  în regiune ca şi Podul lui Dumnezeu. Următoarele poze sunt din Valea Mare unde putem vedea un lac de acumulare şi munţii din jur: Valea Mare.

Diving in Kullen, Sweden

        I finally went diving with a friend in Kullen Ablahamn, the natural reservation of Kullabergs. We were five people, ready to enjoy a beautiful summer day so rare in Sweden, and for this more precious. Kullabergs park is situated in a peninsula on the West coast, a bit more north of Helsinborg. As far I could see, the park is beautiful, but the main thing today was the diving. It was my first dive outside Red Sea, and i was a bit worried about how the wet-suit will work but it was ok. The visibility was worse, just about 5m. We could see some sea stars, fish, even a crab and some aquatic plants. We reached 27.5 m depth on the deepest point, the deepest point I ever reached. The weather was perfect, and the only problem was the access on some very slippery rocks. Anyway, these are the pictures: Kullen Diving.

În sfârşit am mers la scufundări cu un prieten în Kullen Ablahamn, în rezervaţia naturală Kullabergs. Am fost cinci persoane, gata să ne bucurăm de o zi frumoasă de vară, care este atât de rară în Suedia şi pentru asta cu atât mai preţioasă. Rezervaţia Kullabergs este situată pe o peninsulă pe coasta de vest, un pic mai în nord de Helsinborg. Atât cât am putut să observ rezervaţia este frumoasă, dar obiectivul principal în această zi era scufundarea. Era prima mea scufundare în afara de Marea Roşie şi am fost un pic îngrijorat despre cum o să funcţioneze costumul de scafandru, dar a fost bine. Vizibilitatea a fost mai proastă, abia 5 metri. Am putut să vedem ceva stele de mare, peşte, chiar şi un crab şi nişte plante acvatice. Am ajuns la 27.5 m adâncime în partea cea mai profundă la care am ajuns vreodată. Oricum, aici sunt nişte poze: Kullen Diving.

Lund, Sweden

It seems that i forgot to say anything about Lund, the city where I live now. Universitary city, the oldest in Sweden it is a very nice place to live in. You can take a peek here: Lund.
